Armed robbery cases have reduced in Ghana, thanks to sports betting – J. Derobie Dancehall artiste, J Derobie, says sports betting has helped reduced crime rate in the country.
The ‘poverty’ hitmaker speaking in an interview on Class FM stated that had it not been for the sports betting industry in the country, many Ghanaian youths would have gone into armed robbery to survive.
“Betting is good, betting is good. It has helped most of the youth, it has pushed some of them from stealing and all that”, adding: “You know, if it weren’t for betting, some [young] people would be on the streets stealing and robbing”. he told the show host, Prince Benjamin.
