Mega EJ and Tripcy Launches The ‘Hasty EP’

‘Hasty’ captures Tripcy and Mega EJ at the height of their powers. Recorded during the peak of the global pandemic, Coronavirus (COVID-19), the project involves the combination of elements of West African musical styles such as fuji music, yoruba, and highlife with American funk and jazz influences, with a focus on chanted vocals, complex intersecting rhythms, and percussion.

Club anthems like “Winnie Mandela,” “Easily,” and “Bloombar” fulfill the Afrobeats nerd fantasy of two growing superheroes. Characterized by big bands, long instrumental solos, and complex jazzy rhythms all produced by Nektunez, the project is gradually becoming the most sort after compilations in this festive season.
