“Sonnie Badu Urges Voters to Reject Failed Leaders and Avoid Trading Votes for Food Items”

Ghanaian gospel singer and preacher Sonnie Badu has criticized the current government, labeling it a failure and urging Ghanaians to consider the high cost of living when voting on December 7.

In an interview on Accra FM on November 20, 2024, Badu emphasized the importance of being cautious of gifts from politicians on election day. He warned, “Don’t let someone deceive you with gari, rice, and yam so you throw away your precious vote. The only time you have power is now, and it’s evident when politicians visit and mingle with you in towns and villages as if they can relate to your circumstances; once they gain power, they will rarely return.”

Badu further encouraged Ghanaians to vote out leaders who have failed to improve the country’s economy. He stated, “If you are happy, vote. If you are not, vote. Consider your circumstances and vote. And vote out leaders who did not help the country when they were in power. I am only sharing my principles.”

Sonnie Badu is a renowned Ghanaian gospel musician and the founder of the Rock Hill Church. He is celebrated for several hit songs, including “Baba,” “My Soul Says Yes,” and “Still You Reign.” His remarks reflect the growing frustration of many Ghanaians over economic challenges as citizens prepare to voice their opinions in the upcoming elections.

Badu’s words resonate with many Ghanaians who are dissatisfied with the current state of affairs and yearning for change. His appeal for voters to exercise their rights thoughtfully and not be swayed by short-term incentives is a timely reminder of the power of informed voting in shaping the nation’s future.
