Idris Elba Teams Up with Government to Develop Film Village in Accra

British Ghanaian actor Idris Elba recently met with former President John Dramani Mahama at Jubilee House to discuss plans for establishing a world-class film village in Accra. The proposed project, known as the Arts Heritage District, will be located near Osu Castle (formerly Christianborg Castle) and aims to train young Ghanaian creatives, enhance the local film industry, and attract international investment.

During the meeting, Elba and his team presented a visual rendering of the proposed site. They shared their vision for a public-private partnership focused on developing a dedicated film precinct. This initiative is designed to nurture young Ghanaian talents and produce high-quality films for international markets. Elba emphasized that the project would create training and employment opportunities for young Ghanaians, providing a much-needed boost to the local film industry.
