Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, also known as 2Baba, has sparked controversy with his recent comments suggesting that men are not biologically wired to remain sexually faithful to one woman.

During an appearance on the 234 Mzansi podcast, hosted by Ani Emmanuel (commonly known as Nedu Wazobia), the 49-year-old artist shared his views on male sexuality, love, and fidelity in romantic relationships.

“I’ll speak for myself man is not built to be sexually exclusive to one woman,” he stated. “A man can give his heart, love, and respect to one woman, but when it comes to sexual satisfaction, it’s nearly impossible. That’s just male biology.”

2Baba explained that this biological nature can lead to challenges in relationships, suggesting that acknowledging this reality could reduce heartache and emotional distress. “So many people go through unnecessary pain and heartbreak because we don’t accept this simple fact,” he added. “Understanding it might help us deal with reality better.”

While he acknowledged that some men may choose to be different, he emphasized that the average man is driven by instinct. “Some may decide to be different, and that’s okay. But naturally, a man has many seeds he’s not designed to plant them in just one place.”

His comments have drawn renewed attention to his personal life, especially regarding his relationship with Nollywood actress Annie Idibia. Without providing specifics, 2Baba confirmed that their separation was mutual and stemmed from emotional disconnection rather than any scandal. “Annie and I had a strong connection she’s a wonderful woman. But it just wasn’t working anymore. We both gave it our best,” he said. “There’s no need to go into the details. We have our understanding, and she’s still amazing.”

He also advised couples against staying in unhappy marriages simply due to social pressure. “If a marriage isn’t working, both partners should try to fix it. But if it still doesn’t work, no one should be forced to stay. Only the people in the marriage know what they’re really going through.”

2Baba’s remarks have sparked widespread discussion online, reigniting debates about fidelity, gender roles, and the evolving nature of relationships in modern society.
