“Pastor Mensa Otabil Claims God No Longer Reveals Mysteries to People”
Pastor Mensa Otabil, the founder of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), has sparked controversy with his assertion that “God is not revealing mysteries to anybody again” and that divine revelations have come to a close. His remarks, made in a widely circulated video, challenge the credibility of various conflicting prophecies regarding Ghana’s upcoming elections. He suggests that these claims are merely personal interpretations rather than divine inspirations.
In the video, Pastor Otabil emphatically stated, “God is not revealing mysteries to anybody again. I will say it again: God is not revealing mysteries to anybody, and God is not speaking by revelation to anybody. God’s revelation is closed; He’s not adding or subtracting from it.” His bold declaration implies that the era of God imparting new mysteries to individuals has ended.
Pastor Otabil’s comments come at a time when there is a surge of controversial prophecies about the upcoming elections, with various prophets predicting inconsistent outcomes and naming different candidates as winners. His remarks cast doubt on the credibility of these prophecies, suggesting they may not be divinely inspired but rather personal interpretations.
In a previous video, Pastor Otabil expressed concerns about the behavior of certain pastors in Ghana, indicating that their actions are damaging the public’s perception of the clergy. Speaking at Desert Pastures in Bolgatanga, the home church of Rev. Eastwood Anaba, he lamented the lack of a formal body to regulate the religious sector, which he believes has allowed individuals to assume lofty titles such as “prophet” or “bishop” without proper scrutiny. He noted that the public is increasingly losing faith in church leaders due to the irresponsible conduct and controversial statements made by some ministers of the church.
