Nana Agradaa Convicted for Fraud and False Advertising

An Accra Circuit Court has convicted Patricia Asiedua, widely known as Nana Agradaa and the founder of Heaven Way Champion International Ministry in Weija, for engaging in false advertising and defrauding individuals.

The self-proclaimed evangelist was found guilty on multiple counts after it was established that she deceived the public through misleading advertisements aired on her Today-TV channel and various social media platforms. In these ads, Agradaa claimed that she could double any amount of money her followers gave to her.

Court documents revealed that six complainants, along with over a thousand others, traveled from different parts of the country to attend an all-night service at her church. They handed over various sums of money in hopes of receiving the promised returns, but Agradaa failed to deliver on her promise.

According to the prosecution, Agradaa and her associates deliberately engaged in false advertising to orchestrate a money-doubling scheme and defraud the public.

The court has yet to pass sentence, pending the results of a pregnancy test to determine whether Agradaa is expecting.
